- perfect for DIY Weather Stations and Air Quality Monitors
- Easy to use on a breadboard with the included 5-pin header
- Documentation, tutorials, demos: https://youtube.com/acrobotic
Description
This breakout board provides a convenient way to start using the popular MiCS6814, a combined Carbon Monoxide (CO), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), and Ammonia (NH3) sensor with three independent elements sensitive to each gas. The MiCS6814 can also detect Ethanol, Hydrogen, Methane and other VOCs gases. The MiCS6814 detects the concentrations of gases in the air and outputs a corresponding analog voltage. The MiCS6814 is sensitive to Nitrogen Dioxide (0.05~10ppm), CO (1~1000ppm), Ammonia (1~500ppm), Ethanol (10~500ppm), H2 (1~1000ppm), and Methane/Propane/Iso-Butane (>1,000ppm). However, it can’t tell you which specific gas it has detected. Although the sensor works great, it should not be used for any safety, medical or finished product usage. All gas sensors require calibration for precision output.
The way the sensor works is by changes in its internal resistance, which is designed to be sensitive to changes in concentration of the target gases. The sensor features fast response, high sensitivity, and a wide range of detection.
This breakout board makes it easy to connect this sensor to your microcontroller board or single-board computer such as Arduino, ESP8266, BeagleBone or Raspberry Pi!
Features:
- Power Supply: 5VDC
- This breakout PCB facilitates using the MiCS6814 sensor, specially on solderless breadboards!
- Sturdy (1.6mm), blue PCB with a 5-pin header on one side (VCC, GND, NH3, NO2, and CO)
- 5-Pin header included, but soldering is required!
